Forklift Instructor Observation and Coaching

forklift-training-sm.jpg

At 7:30 p.m. on December 23, 2018, an employee was operating the standing forklift in reverse while moving the product.

The employee became disoriented while in reverse, stepped back, and was caught between the forklift and storage racks, shattering the pelvis."

Instructor Observation and Coaching

Instructor observation and coaching is required in order for your company to remain compliant with OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.178 code.

Operators must receive hands-on instruction and observation under the watchful eye of someone with the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience to perform a comprehensive assessment and constructive coaching to operator trainees.

Online training or classroom-only training falls far short of developing safe equipment operators and is not in-line with OSHA's expectations.

Remember, if your employee is involved in a serious or fatal accident, OSHA investigators will arrive onsite and the first thing they are going to want to see is the written training records that document all required information.

Training Documentation is it Really Important?

If your business is unable to produce the required training documentation your company will receive a significant fine.

Our instructors provide comprehensive hands-on skills training in conjunction with real-time coaching and feedback for operator performance.

Upon conclusion of all required training and practice sessions, our instructors perform an assessment on your operator candidates to ensure they have attained the base level of knowledge and skills to become an introductory operator.

Most training vendors are focused on getting your people through the short video and out to the floor for a quick review of controls operation before returning them back to work.  This is a recipe for disaster and must be avoided at all costs.

Hands-on training, operator practice, and coaching session followed by a full skills assessment is the only way to set the foundation for your operators to become safe and efficient in handling your equipment.
